Canada Day Weekend!!!

Once again, I am a week late and a buck short. However here is my wrap up of my long weekend (last week).
On Friday we headed out for my Specialist appt in Parry Sound. We got there early, but had to wait until the actually appt time to get in. More on the appt in another post.
From there we headed to Haliburton to my parents cottage (aka the Camp). The last few years I have been lucky to make it there once a year, and this is my opportunity to go this year. It is pretty primitive. No hydro, no running water, no phones, we sleep in a tent and yes, you do have to use an outhouse.
Sounds like a dream vacay right!?!?! Or at least it does to me. The lake is a small lake 1km by 2km approx. Plus there are no developments on the one side of the lake. So it is just forest! Beautiful!!!

Remy was pretty excited to see everyone, she has been seeing a lot of my Mom in the last couple of months, and she LOVES my dad, as most animals do. Plus she got to hang out with her 2 uncles (chewbaca and Yoda) and her cousin (Bentley).

Plus Remy met a boy!! J was a nervous father when this boy started coming around, and didn't like them playing together. He thought Marley (The Boy!) got Remy too worked up. So we had to supervise their time together and keep it brief.

The boys spent the weekend working on building a shed. They decided on a 8 x 12 with a 6 ft overhang (J loves his overhangs).

While the rest of us relaxed in the sun and did some swimming, kayaking, and paddleboating.

We did run into some old college friends of mine which was awesome!! They just bought some property down the road from my parents!! It was awesome hanging out and seeing them again!!

On Sunday we had Fireworks!! J loves setting them off, but is more limited at his parent's cottage than mine, so we had a whole bunch to celebrate with!

Remy loved the fireworks!! She associated the sounds of them going off with a gun, and thought J was shooting stuff for her to retrieve. It took everything I had to hold on to her and keep her from jumping into the lake to bring back whatever she thought she was supposed to bring back!! The other dogs did NOT enjoy the show...at all.

The weather was beautiful all week and it was overall a wonderful 6 days!! The boys finished the cabin.

I don't think my dad could have been any happier!!
Plus Remy ended up being an awesome tenter!! We have never let her sleep out of her Crate before, and this week she had to sleep in the 2 man tent with us. She was awesome and slept at our feet on her towel all night. She would wake up around 5 am with the sun, but would just stare at us until someone paid attention to her. She is one awesome dog!!!
